Commander Tash is the supervisor of the Second Generation Ranger Operators. He later becomes a Ranger Operator himself as Ranger Black 2.1.

Six years ago, he was one of Edgar Sheinfeld's subordinates. He then was left in charge of the three children that escaped the transport to Hyper Space - Drew Sheinfeld, Bradley Roach, & Amy Blackman. Now he commands the Second Generation Ranger Operators, the Energy Management Center's Special Missions Unit & successors of the First Generation Ranger Operators.

He & his superiors operate under the belief that there were no survivors in the incident six years ago. His prime directive, which drives all his mission commands, is to shut Venjix down permanently. Thus to do this, he protects the Enetron reserves to prevent Venjix from amassing power, & makes tactical decisions that place the safety of the Second Generation Ranger Operators & Cybuddies only second to finding weak points & discovering ways of beating Venjix & Enter. He does not take kindly to being questioned, nor does he take kindly to being second-guessed or confronted about his methods.

The Ranger Black 2.1 Key is a Legendary Ranger Key released only in the toyline; it is unknown if it will appear in a future crossover. Of course, as with all Legendary Ranger Keys, should it exist, it would be able to morph one, i.e. one of the Super Mega Rangers, into Ranger Black 2.1.
